Makeshift Memorial For Slain Brevard County Deputy
MELBOURNE, Florida – After the public was permitted by law enforcement back into the area where 52-year-old Brevard County Deputy Barbara Pill was killed yesterday, American flags and flowers are being laid at a stop sign at the intersection of John Rhodes Boulevard and Elina Way.
“Our worst nightmare has come true. One of our own, an incredible deputy sheriff by the name of Barbara Pill was shot and killed in the line of duty this morning,” said Sheriff Jack Parker at a press conference yesterday.
Brevard residents are also showing their solidarity today for Deputy Pill by tying blue ribbons to their auto antennae while the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office will wear memorial bands on their badges to honor Deputy Pill.
