SANFORD, Florida — George Zimmerman has set up a website seeking donations to help with his legal fees for the case involving the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
The website address is TheRealGeorgeZimmerman.com where a PayPal account has been set up on the front page along with Zimmerman’s version of events. The website is currently down due to so much traffic, so a cached version of the website in a Google or Yahoo search engine is the only way to view the website tonight.
On the front page, Zimmerman says “As a result of the incident and subsequent media coverage, I have been forced to leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life.”
Zimmerman’s website coincidentally corresponds with Florida State Attorney Angela Corey decision not to use a Grand Jury in the Trayvon Martin shooting death investigation according to a press release issued by her office today.
Corey said in the press release that “The decision should not be considered a factor in the final determination of the case…Ms. Corey was appointed as the Special Prosecutor on March 22, 2012, by Governor Rick Scott. From the moment she was assigned, Ms. Corey noted she may not need a Grand Jury.”
The Grand Jury, set to convene on April 10, 2012, was previously scheduled by Norm Wolfinger, State Attorney for Brevard County and Seminole County who stepped down from the case last month after controversy erupted over the lack of prosecution against the shooter, George Zimmerman.
Corey office has stated that, at this time, the investigation continues and there will be no further comment from this office. RELATED STORIES:
