MELBOURNE, Florida — On Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at approximately 4:00 A.M., the Melbourne Police Department responded to the Allied Veterans of the World arcade located at 3299 South Babcock Street in reference to an armed robbery.
Police say that the preliminary investigation indicated that three armed subjects entered into the open business in an apparent robbery attempt. The suspects were confronted by the armed security guard who was able to thwart the attempt by utilizing his firearm.
One suspect was struck by a bullet and was taken into custody a short distance from the scene. He is currently in stable condition.
The Melbourne Police Department is currently investigating this incident.
