MIMS, Florida — Three teenagers were airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida after being involved in an ATV accident near Mims, Florida.

The crash occurred at 5:43p.m. in the 1900 Block of Hammock Road and Parrish Road in Brevard County.

A trauma alert was issued for all three patients (aged 13, 14, and 17).   Air Care helicopters 1, 2, and 3 were dispatched to the scene and transported the patients to the Pediatric Trauma Center at Arnold Palmer.  A landing zone was established at nearby Chain of Lakes Park.

A full investigation into the cause of the accident will be conducted by the Florida Highway Patrol and results of that investigation will be issued by them.

Brevard County Fire Rescue Spokesperson Lt. Jeffrey Taylor said that none of the patients appeared to have been wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
