  • What do you expect?? The town allows this nudist hotel to open and look what happens to this family friendly town. More trash coming in. Every decent home owner in this town was afraid something like this would happen. Hopefully this new mayor will turn this town into a peaceful beach community.

  • It wasn't The Fawlty Towers fault someone decided to come shoot thier guest. I know all of them personally an they are very nice people an its sickening that people are always judging hotels wether they are nudist or not. Being a nudist isn't trash its a personal preference. There is a 23 year old man dead an its very sad. He was probably hanging out with the wrong crowd. YES that buisness is family oriented its ran by a x wife and husband an children.

  • You all sound like the people who now live in Key West. They moved there BECAUSE of how it was and then wanted it all to stop when they arrived. Tourists keep this little city alive and only interesting things keep tourists coming. Most of the crime in Cocoa Beach is teenage neighborhood crimes because the parents do not parent.(not MY kid. lol) We need to ADD free roaming chickens, special parades, drinking contests, nude beaches, contests, bicycle days, concerts, and things that make the are interesting. That would draw more people. The old-time residents allowed the dunes to be bulldozed down so the third floor view from the condos and hotels would not be obstructed. They allowed attractions like the missile garden and Satellite Motel sign and Sea Missile hotel to fall. If you really want it to be so quiet and sleepy beach town... go to Celebration or The Villages.

  • Far more crimes take place in the homes and churches in Cocoa Beach than at any nudist resort. Let's keep to the facts instead of bigotry. It is people like those posting here that cannot contain themselves and are embarrassed by how GOD made them. THEY are the perverted ones. Nude does not equal sex unless you have a perverted mind and no restraint. Cocoa Beach was built on SEX and DRUGS and BOOZE when the Space Program was booming. Brassey's had prostitutes, we had X-Rated hotels at A1A and SR 520 and XXX movies in Winn-Dixie plaza next to a toy store and Radio Shack, prostitutes strolled on the opposite corner of A1A, Ron Jon's is here because of drug money... Cocoa Beach had more topless bars than churches then. Bars were open until 6AM. Who are you kidding with this "Family Orientated" Cocoa Beach??? BTW, crime rates were lower. Check your facts. Just ask most of the wealthy and "Society" people in Cocoa Beach. They know as that is how most of them got their status.

  • For those people leaving comments that "It's all about young fools and drugs" and all the other negative comments about victims of crimes...They should really learn the fact before commenting. He wasn't a young fool on drugs, he is a young man who is going to missed by all of us who knew him. It's just sad to see people be so flippant with their comments when something like this happens.

  • I've only lived here about a year (but I grew up in Indian Harbour)and I'm really surprised at the amount of crime at Cocoa Beach. Lots of attempted robberies and break-ins-it really is too bad. I imagine most of these crimes are committed by transients and I agree that more should be done to get control of the situation here.

  • Instead of having that Zimmerman trial thrown in our face on every news channel they should have reported this so people could have been on the lookout for these 2 guys.

  • He probably couldn't get a room at Motel 6 and Faulty Towers got the overflow.Something needs to be done about these beach hotels renting out to hoodlums causing repeated problems here on the beach. We never had these problems before and now its happenning all the time.It is not hard at all to look up these Cocoa fools record on the court website. And remember that hotel that rented out to the thug that wound up killing Deputy Pill? These hotels have to be held accountable and owners and managers charged for harboring fugities and promoting drug activity!
