Pineda Causeway Re-Opened After Fatal Crash

UPDATE: Pineda Causeway has re-opened.

MERRITT ISLAND, Florida —  The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that a fatal crash occurred just after 1 a.m. Thursday morning on Pineda Causeway (State Road 404) near the intersection of South Tropical Trail (State Road 3) on Merritt Island, Florida.


All westbound lanes on SR 404 are shut down while FHP conducts its investigation.


Motorists coming from Patrick Air Force Base or Satellite Beach could use State Road 520 in Cocoa Beach or Eau Gallie Causeway in Melbourne as alternate westbound routes.
