Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Cocoa

UPDATE: The pedestrian has been identifies as 58-year-old Priscilla Jeffords of Cocoa, Florida.

COCOA, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle just after 6:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving night in Cocoa, Florida.

A 58-year-old Cocoa, Florida woman was walking from east to west while attempting to cross Paradise Lane in Cocoa, Florida.  Meanwhile, 73-year-old Judith Connelly of Merritt Island, Florida was driving a 2012 Chevy SUV southbound on Paradise Lane in the outside lane.

According to FHP reports, the pedestrian traveled into the direct path of the Chevy and was struck. 

The pedestrian has not been identified pending next-of-kin notification.

The crash remains under investigation.
